Ashore after weeks at sea. Matt took pity on us and provided an extra hint in 72a. Fun meta.

geeteebee wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2020 5:16 pm Very odd question but maybe somebody here can help:

I'm on a laptop and when I open the puzzle to do online, the box that gives the clue is superimposed over the puzzle and is so big that the 'X' is hidden to make it disappear. I haven't figured out how to reduce the size of the box so I can get to the puzzle. The box won't scroll up or down.

Any ideas?

Same here. I think I even have step 2, but hit a dead end.

So I know I am onto the correct methodology - I'm not to the solution yet and may not get there. But I can say this I do not like this puzzle for several reasons.

By the way: Anyone else get an earworm from the title? My kid was 4 or 5 when High School Musical became hugely popular with the preschool set, and I must have heard the soundtrack hundreds of times. (The song actually has "All" in the title, but close enough!)

Well, that took some thinking! On shore, a bit bedraggled.

Keep trying! Put it down and look at it again in awhile.

I guess I'm onshore. I don't know if id put this person on my short list of business magnates, but it isn't wrong.

Try mowing your lawn. Worked for me last week when I was clueless!

That took longer than I expected when I started, but I'm successfully ashore!

I had figured out the first and second part as soon as I came back from my run getting the first part while I was jogging. However, I've tried literally every reasonable combination and permutation and then took a dinner break - still nada.

I have just rarely been on the same wavelength as Mr. Gaffney and more frequently I've found his solutions tenuous. I hate to say that because I really like Matt and he has always been very nice to me but even the puzzles of his I solve I find myself thinking that could have been better.

So I'm onshore - just at my own beach drinking a Heineken 0.0 :D

Yes, I did until I got to 61A. Now I have a different one. My kids were middle school I think, and we were all loony from that music. But you gotta love Kenny Ortega!

I must be at the point of a few others...thought I had a solution, but there must be another step. This one doesn’t make sense. I will hit it again after a workout. My time with Isaac hasn’t been very productive lately.

I'm going to spend some time with Isaac to sample some his single malt scotches. Just getting gibberish onn the meta right now. I"m hoping a break from the puzzle will help me.
