Ashore! This brings my WSJ streak up to, wait for it... 52!! One year! All solo solves (a little help from my boyfriend last week and on the King Arthur puzzle from December), including one harrowing one I got at 10:30 on a Sunday night ("Parting the Waters").

Well you are gonna be stuck w/ me then!
I have something which can't be a coincidence but not strong enough to propel me to shore.

On Shore. Would it be considered a spoiler if I ordered that drink?

Joining the crowd on shore but not drinking [Insert name of meta here]. I won't say what we are drinking in case that would become a spoiler!

Edit: Just realized this is the start to a fantastic crosswording weekend. See y'all for MGWCC tomorrow, Lollapuzzoola on Saturday, and (don't forget) WWMC on Sunday! It's the quadfecta!
Extend the weekend with a Muggle Meta Monday by yours truly! 8-)

Well that took me an embarrassingly long time as I went in the wrong direction, but I'm on shore now. Very nice.

Keep going, I think you’ll get it. I scratched my head with it for a while.

Well I am glad someone put me out of my misery. Never in a billion years with all the resources in the world. Not only would I never have seen the methodology but I’ve never heard of the answer and nor was it on the list of 25 that I was looking at. Easily the hardest puzzle of the year for me - certainly more difficult than Monopoly or Morse code.

I was past needing glasses. I needed a cane and a guide dog. Ashore with a push.

I did find something that is probably not intentional that could have also made for a good puzzle.
I saw something that could have made for a good puzzle, and a couple rabbit holes later, turned out it was relevant, just not in exactly the same way I’d originally assumed.

I just got it! Similar to the way you saw it, I bet!
Just pleased as punch to be Ashore!
Definitely my kind of puzzle!

Got it after some distractions, both within the puzzle and in my life. Very nice one and a little different than most.

Ashore! I think I’ll settle for a Hoppy Yum (NC IPA) instead though.

Ashore after an early-morning trip to the dentist to deal with a crown that came off (and needs to be totally redone, to the tune of $1200 😳), followed by a long afternoon nap. Puzzle was straightforward, but it took awhile to get the meta. At least the game of Monopoly isn’t involved! (Oops. I hope that isn’t a spoiler! 😜)
