"Color Code" - July 24, 2020

Post by Bob cruise director »

Today's crossword is titled Color Code by Mike Shenk. The answer to this week's contest is a five-letter word

And in appreciation to Mr. Gaffney, I am sending him a case of these (if I could find them) for his son.

Good luck to all with the grid and meta

Sorry I missed most of Tuesday's get together. I was spending time with my wife.

Hugglety, mugglety,
Color me gratified—
Safely cabaña-ed and
Ready to sip!

This one was just a tad
C**************,
Yet it provided a
Marvelous trip.

On to the weekend! Make mine a Manhattan!

What? You had time to write a poem and still be first by 10 minutes?

I can tell by the construction this is going to be an easy one - granted I'll never solve it - but I can tell this was meant to be like a KAS 1 or 2.

Umm, I put in a placeholder after I solved and submitted. Then I versified!

I disagree at this point, though I can't confirm since I'm not on shore. Eleven posts in the first hour suggests to me it's going to be another low solve rate.

Fairly easy grid. Not seeing anything yet. Need to get this done before MGWCC week 4 hits tomorrow.

Onshore, hopefully starting a new streak. Very well-constructed and elegant puzzle.
