This week's puzzle is titled EXECUTIVE SEARCH by Matt Gaffney

The answer to this week's contest is a U.S. President

Good luck with the grid and the meta

On another note, for our literary experts, in today's WSJ, there is an article about a pressing issue. After a period, do you leave one space or two?

Toes in sand, (non-alcoholic) drink in hand. Impressive and fun puzzle!

Ashore, I think. A clever construction, but not my favorite puzzle.

Now you're making me think I'm probably on the wrong shore. Must be an off week for me.

Seems like about a year and half since I've solved a frigging meta, but I did it! On shore.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

I jumped the gun on MMMM this week and am still stinging. I will ponder some more even though Iโ€™m pretty sure.

Ashore! Having spent the last two weeks lost at sea, it is so nice to feel the warm sand under our feet.

I feel like I am onshore - could just be a mirage. I feel like what I found could only yield one answer but am too tired right now to see why I am missing part of it. Maybe later or tomorrow.

Haven't looked at the puzzle yet, but any nun will tell you, "two spaces after a period." Expect a ruler to bloody your knuckles if you disagree.
