Well even if I arrived at the wrong shore it was WAY too crowded for safety. I'm applying large amounts of alcohol in a few hours to insure my health, and for now admonishing myself to wash my hands. See you all Thursday afternoon. Stay safe, don't stand to close to others, don't touch others and...what; you say I'm repeating what has already been said, don't start with me and stop interrupting!

Oh, and since the virus obviously invades the bloodstream I am applying the alcohol there instead of worrying abut the middleman.

Congrats to this week's winner, Adam Breech of San Rafael, Calif. Stay safe, solvers!
Congratulations - that's getting very close - a mug coming to my city.

Why thank you for that. I have now come out of my admonished funk and, as I have been since the first day I started on here, am delighted to be in the company of such a diverse, experienced and multi-talented group. I fell kind of honored to even be considered a Muggle.

Oh, and I would join a club that would have me as a member but I'd insist they check my references periodically and call me before the membership committee on a regular basis.

This was a tricky one! We had 1587 entries, and only 36% correct, a good deal lower than usual.
Is 36% one of the lowest ever?? If I don't know the answer or have a good idea I just won't post. Only a few times has my "guesstimate" been correct.

Thank you to all here who are keeping track of these sorts of statistics!

Also, I just realized. . . someone at WSJ is counting all the correct and incorrect submissions, bless them!

One of the lowest, yes. In fact the fifth lowest since 4/29/16 (when my data starts). The lower ones were:
12/29/17 "Play Grounds" by Marie Kelly (Mike Shenk) PAGEANT with 1863 submissions 13% correct
03/01/19 "Puzzle People" by Matt Gaffney YMA SUMAC with 357 submissions 26% correct
08/04/17 "Mismatch" by Matt Gaffney CHANGE EAGLES TO BEARS with 1022 submissions 33% correct
12/01/17 "Toy Box" by Marie Kelly (Mike Shenk) CLUE with 296 submissions 33% correct

And here's another good Covid quarantine video:

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Bob and BarbaraK. I know I missed at least 4 of those 5. It’s the ones we miss that stick in our brains and help us learn. Kudos to the select few who solved those!
