On shore.

Good grid - my 24-A was slow at first, but it was fun to complete after 80% of a busy week. I 28-D my hat to the constructor.

Have a good weekend,

Started the grid, napped, continued the grid, napped, struggled some to complete the grid, napped (geez, am I ever getting old!) ... then got the meta pretty easily. In my defense, the napping was after a long day of driving. Happy to finally retire for the night, with the solution confidently submitted.

Started the grid last night, hit a wall and slept on it. Finished it quickly this morning and quickly swam to shore. Liked this one. Of course, I like most of the ones I get!!

Made it to shore last night, and I'm certain it's the right beach this week.

Just picking this up now-- thought of Bob when I saw 34D-- the day after the legend pots his 30th of the season!

Spoiler Alert (And please don't tell me it's not a word. It fits the specs.)

Ashore & submitted.

"If it's so easy, why can't I see it...? Oh, there it is!"

One thing learned: If the meta is easy to solve, per muggles, don't make it difficult and convoluted. Put it down for an hour, overnight, or a day, then take a fresh look. Oh, and calling the puzzle or its creator names - no matter if it's muttered under breath - does not help.

Loved the clues & meta! 5a & 9A made me chuckle. One grid answer seems to be a synonym/antonym, similar to ANXIOUS/EAGER.

What a different a day makes. Filled the grid Thursday night, retired with a foggy brain, then found clarity in somewhat short order at sunrise. Wishing everyone a wondrous weekend, lost hour of sleep notwithstanding. Cheers (and welcome to our talented and clever new constructor)!
