If anyone's in a 'nudging' mood, please PM. I have 6 words that I'm playing with, but two aren't like the other four in structure, and I'm chasing a bunny in circles.
thanks in advance
EDIT: and thanks in reverse, on shore.

After much of Friday spent chasing, I finally arrived on shore that night. But forgot to post, and only remembered just now to submit answer as well!

one very slight nudge/reminder to look at the grid, and I'm on the shore, tickling my toes on the sand. 100%

Somewhat of a newbie. I will count myself on shore but it’s possible that it’s all a mirage.

Welcome again. All of us have found that the shore can be a deserted island, the back of a whale or a mirage.

Finally on the beach!
I only saw the rabbit and its hole,
Til suddenly the path before me cleared -
And led me well and truly to my goal,
The tiki bar that thankfully appeared!

unofficial answer: GLANDS
Find the 6 body part words in the grid: EAR, KNEE, BRAIN, EYE, RIB, FINGER
Each needs to be a compound word (the Part Two name of the puzzle) by adding another word.
The other word, with an extra letter, is also in the grid. For example, earlobe - LOBE is in the puzzle, but with an extra letter - the G from GLOBE (which ... to be cute, is "part" of the "part two" of those words).
This is true for the others - kneecap, brainstem, eyebrow, ribcage and fingernail ... as follows, and here they are, in order:
EAR GLOBE >> EARLOBE >> G
KNEE CLAP >> KNEECAP >> L
BRAIN STEAM >> BRAIN STEM >> A
EYE BROWN >> EYEBROW >> N
RIB CADGE >> RIB CAGE >> D
FINGER SNAIL >> FINGERNAIL >> S
... which spells GLANDS, which is "certain parts of the body" and is the answer to the puzzle.

I'll say as one that's perpetually lost on these things, the problem with these often comes in the question "How do I know that I am supposed to do X with the grid in order to arrive at that solution?" I've found that often the answer to such a question is "You don't." So solving these is often as I describe it a "in-joke" thing. It fits since I've been at this for four years now ("Squeeze Play" was quite easy and fun by comparison with respect to this meta). You just either get the joke or you don't and it kind of ruins things when you don't "just get it" after you see the answer.Devilbunny wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2019 11:57 am Bob -
Would it be possible to set up a forum that opens only after the contest is closed, where very small hints can be offered? I find that simply seeing the entire answer and explanation at once is too much to help me improve. I don't have any cruciverbalist friends, so I can't join a solving group. Perhaps some of our more experienced Muggles would volunteer help?
Needless to say, I live with Issac, especially this week.
Edit: I had a thought about the MMMM and the post contest hints that get sent out there. A lot of the time, they seem to be a little okay on the "how am I suppose to get to the answer?" front, but a lot of the time they aren't too. I'm batting probably .500 right now on seeing a logical solution path off of those hints. So again, "in-joke".
