I’m on shore but the beer mug is shaking in my hand. Wouldn’t be surprised if all the folks at the bar have been pageantry.

The shore looks inviting, and there is the old saw about when you hear hoofbeats, but I’m going to hang with Isaac a bit longer and mull it over....

Agreed, though for "trying to show off" I would substitute "setting himself a challenge." It may be that sometimes the puzzles that are easiest for solvers to solve are the hardest for constructors to construct.

Done & done, but I'm worried a bit that it may have been too easy. Not at all typical of a Gaffney puzzle. We'll see...good luck Muggles!

Observed an old lady named Kay
"This meta's too easy, no way!"
If this one's a pageant
Of scale unimagin't
There'll be much Monday muggle dismay!

After dog-paddling the last couple of weeks, finally found the beach again. I agree, too easy, pretty sure it's something else...

Ashore! Last week's was a bear, but this week - piece of cake!

Thanks, Matt (and Mike) for mixing it up a bit (like at Los Vegas; you have to get a win sometimes to keep you going!)

These limericks are too good so I had to consolidate them here

By tim 1217

There once was a man named Tim
Who went down a rabbit hole on a whim
He lucked-out and solved the meta
And it was definitely a 100 percenta
So he decided to email it in!

By Joe Ross
There once was a man named Joe
Kept wet in the water his toe
Knew meta was right
(Despite being light)
His pint of Guinness to go

by Inca (Freida)
There was a young lady named Inca
Who solved the meta in a blink- uh
But it would be a gamble
Because she had to unscramble
So maybe she should wait and re-think it.

Yes, it’s too simple.

But I’ve traversed the water

And now reached the shore.

Because posts in the form of limericks without rules governing either rhymes or scanning are becoming prolific, here goes:

There once was a Muggle nicknamed Jazzvibist
who solved "That's A Plus" 15 seconds after completing the grid
(although he hopes in his heart of hearts that
we all wind up as victims of a brilliant Pageant
).
Finally, underscoring many previous comments, if the obvious solution turns out to be the correct one, a record high for shorebirds seems likely.

If my answer is right, it is missing the precision that I've come to expect from Mr. Gaffney.
