Solved! But, I must confess, not without Mr. G's help.
BTW I'm your substitute Cruise Director this week.

Very enjoyable puzzle on a nice summer day. How they construct these never fails to amaze me.

Loved this one! I enjoyed the journey.
I'm also happy not to have to obsess about it over the weekend.

Happy for a quick solve since I'll be traveling this weekend. Grid was tough as I'm no poetry major and there were some off-the-wall words (22D? Really?). Nevertheless I'm predicting another crowded beach!
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

On shore. Methinks the beach will be crowded again this week.
Good luck to everyone on winning the mug!

Quickly made it ashore but needed the Google lifeboat to get there. Despite its simplicity, this is a cleverly constructed meta.

I made it shore over lunch today. Waited until the puzzle was published before heading out. Very nice construction.

On shore! Nice one. I probably should have been able get it without Google, but by the time I realized that it was too late.

Ashore! Here in Meta Crossword Land. And happy to have gotten to these imaginary sands quickly, because we now need to prepare to head to a REAL shore (Lake Michigan), for a week away, and I know I'll need whatever remaining free time this weekend for the Week 4 MGWCC coming up.
Good one, Mike!
Seriously, how do you, Matt, Pete, Peter, Peter, et al keep coming up with these great meta puzzles?
