On Shore! It wasn’t Saturday morning coffee, but Friday night wine that got me to the beach!

Janet P wrote: Fri Jun 21, 2019 1:23 pm LAS. Finished the grid online quickly yesterday. Thought I saw something but couldn't make a sensible solution from it. Did the grid over in this morning's paper and followed two new rabbit holes which turned out to be abandoned. Even looked back at previous MG puzzles to see if there might be any hints for a mechanism. Set 'em up, Isaac 🍸
I’m with you Janet. I’ll buy you a drink. This seems like it should be accessible but I’m lost.

I hadn’t been doing the puzzles recently. It is satisfying to be back and to be ashore.

On shore. I went through the steps, found what I needed to find and came up with an answer. But I still did not know how the answer related to the title. (Last time I got an answer without finding how it related to the title was ALTERNATIVES.) I had to explain what I found to my daughters before they pointed out the relationship and now I know why so many found this satisfying.

Slid safely into home.
It appears that the WSJ puzzle blog is closed after 48 hours. I thought they had extended the time limit till at least Monday. It's back back to the way it used to be. I can't resist quoting Yogi, "It's deja vu all over again."
Oh well, “The future ain’t what it used to be.”
Perhaps, they're punishing us because “We made too many wrong mistakes.”
Most merciful WSJ, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. As our savior Yogi would put it, “I didn’t really say everything I said.”

A very productive Friday evening. Solved the WSJ and the MGWCC! On shore and in orbit....or something like that.

I’m on shore after a few weeks at sea. Good to be on dry land!

The WSJ blog? Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.

On the crowded beach. Despite the crowd, I'd say this is Kas-3. Lovely puzzle.

I see on the WSJ page, “The conversation on this article is currently closed.” Not even 48 hours this week. Maybe 24.

Thank you Brian for creating and maintaining this wonderful site where we can talk about puzzles any time we want!🥂

I think that I shall never never see
The meta crying out to me
I've heard that somewhere there's a beach
But it seems too far for me to reach
So Isaac serve me up one more
As I only dream of reaching shore

To she who put her woe in verse
This meta has become a curse
Do not despair and please do strive
For you may reach our Tiki dive

On shore. I appreciate when a puzzle title manages to give away nothing yet confirm the 100%-ness of the eventual answer!

It's all been said. This is Gaffneyesque so you have to use Gaff-niques. Fun!

Love the new forum. Thank you for all your hard work.
