Lights went out in the old ships bar before closing time! Very sad. Luckily, I made it to this one and swam ashore easily this week. It’s been a torrid week of reorganization, but nice to end it winding down with the Tiki crew. You can’t keep a good team down!

I need Bill Katz. I am having trouble loading my avatar! Sigh.
This is the site I used to resize CIndy's avatar:
http://picresize.com/
It took some work to get her text to not get blurred when the high-def phone picture (2000+ pixels/side) was shrunk to avatar size (<180 pixels per side and <12kB). What I did was first convert it from jpeg to gif at full resolution to reduce it to 256 colors, and then I changed the size and saved it as a jpeg with the max file size specified.

On posting: I am a subscriber - new rules also indicate that conversations close after 48 hours so unable to post on official WSJ site as conversation closed there. Thanks so much for setting this up.

Another nomination for our FAQ list!

I found some simple instructions on using Paint to reduce pic size, too, but not entirely satisfied. I got the size to <12, only to get an error saying that my file wasn’t <11kb. Below 11 worked.

i think you missed me. Bunny with the pretzels.
I realized that after I sent it out. You will be honored in tomorrow's report (which may be late as I have to do some electrical work for my son)

Don't know if I'll have a chance to look at both MG metas today but may give it a shot later. Anyway, I'm on here and looking forward to see if this thing actually posts.....I should have picked a cooler screen name, wonder if there's a way to change it??? And, yes, they really did shut down the comments on the WSJ site at 48 hours!

If I missed anyone or have you in here twice, please let me know.

I do not see Inca on the list although I may have missed it. I had messaged you that I was Freida Cohen on the latest WSJ forum, but was actually Inca on the original WSJ forum so you can list me as Inca. Appreciate that you are doing a lot of work on this. :)

Noticed The WSJ Blog of this week's puzzle contest is "closed" to commenting. Does that mean we no longer will have access to the statistics regarding the number of submissions and correct answers, etc.?
