Ashore! Nice one! I hope the WSJ keeps being this straightforward - it's by far the easiest of the metas each week, in my opinion. A nice ego boost when I've been staring at the PGWCC for two days already. Sigh.

Ashore. I had to stare at it for a little while before I had my aha moment. I let the flow take me in the wrong direction at first.
I should have seen it sooner, but it's nice to have one that I don't get instantly.
Unlike last week, I was able to get the meta without Google or doubts about my answer.

Ashore. I mostly back-solved, once I got the first bit.

Wasn't there an earlier puzzle with a similar gimmick? How else would I have known so quickly how to interpret the clue that unlocks the meta?
(I also wonder if Matt originally had the idea of using a Braves pitcher but then had to give it up for a less subtle entry.)

I had most of the meta before finishing the grid, making this my fastest trip to shore, but only because it reminded me of another meta that I struggled over (so haven't forgotten).

On shore. The grid was easy, but it took me a little time to go with the flow on the meta. Neat puzzle-nice job by Matt.

I had a gig this evening, so I got a late start on this one. I'll bring some nice Oktoberfest music along to the shore party.
And Matt brought the food! How nice of him. And what a yummy choice.

Done and done. And a well done meta, Matt. Very clever.
I, too, thought this pretty easy. Thanks to a nice clue from the big guy.
I see the ship’s chef has this good food on the menu this weekend, so I’ll 8D there now to partake before having a nightcap with Isaac. Then you can find me in the stern garden til the last shore shuttle on Sunday.

On shore thanks to all the comments here. Not spoilers, but very leading in some ways.

Drifted kinda slowly ashore. Yes, very clever. Thought it was average difficulty so am surprised at the "easy" rating so far.

Ashore. Definitely an easy one, or at least I happened to grok it right away. Way less than ten minutes for the grid, and less than a minute for the meta. Good one though. This would be a good one to show beginners I think.
