On the ship once again. I have become a regular at Isaac's bar. At least the beer selection is good. I will take a Boulevard Manhattan Social Club please.

Got it but only with SIGNIFICANT nudges so I am declaring myself plucked from the ocean and back with Isaac considering this one a learning experience.
My avatar proves that it is sometimes better to be lucky than good!

Our final report has 59 on the ship and 73 on the shore
First we give a warm welcome to our newest muggle - copperriver
And for those who jumped overboard but did not make it to shore, the ship has a crack rescue team which brought you back on the ship
And we have a bunch emerging on the ship since lunch

Last thing - the link to the Tuesday Zoom is at. All are welcome to tell of their travails or successes this week. It should be an interesting discussion.

Whatever the "incredible", "impressive" meta is, it's way beyond my understanding. I've spent an hour and a half just combing through the grid and the clues, and I have nothing. Throwing in the towel, congrats to all who saw it. Isaac, your strongest soda, please.

As much money and life as you could want! The two things most human beings would choose above all — the trouble is, humans do have a knack of choosing precisely those things that are worst for them.

Hail Mary time. Submitted a guess but from somewhere far off shore.

Solving this on the WSJ app Thursday kept me keelhauled most of the weekend. By this afternoon I couldn't remember what the puzzle was about. Printed out a fresh grid tonight and the swim to shore came pretty quickly thereafter.
Moral: Beware the app.

The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Finally limped onto shore, after acknowledgement from a Mugglemate that I was on the right track. And I really was... had the right idea, but for some reason I decided to dance around with every permutation of the mechanism, stopping just short of the solution. I don't deserve a Guinness, but it's about 127 degrees in my house now, so I should have one just to stay dru...hydrated.

Threw up a last minute Hail Mary. I'll bet 5 dollars it's wrong. Any takers?

I feel like I'm close. Can I please PM someone to see if I'm on the right train of thought? If I am close I don't want to be kicking myself for missing the obvious...
Edit: Got a couple responses. No need to hit me with more, thanks!

Members tees are a good pitch forward. But now I’m jealous! I saw those three on TV and remember the fun and some pretty good shots! Historic moment.Bob cruise director wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2020 8:03 pmGreat opportunity. My nephew and I went to the practice round of the Masters last year. Tremendous experience. You can not appreciate the hilliness of the course until you walk it. Where are the member's tees as we did not see any real tee boxes except the ones the pros played from.Colin wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2020 6:03 pmOK Bob, you’ve opened the door to bragging rights! My avatar shows me teeing off on Hole 6 (Juniper) at Augusta National 2004, about 2 weeks after the masters. It didn’t cost me a penny and this was my only par. Par 3 course in the morning, luncheon in the clubhouse, and my pretend ‘Masters’ in the afternoon. Members tees, of course. Classic example of right place, right time.Bob cruise director wrote: Sun Jul 19, 2020 3:39 pm
Your avatar made me jealous. I am playing tomorrow with predicted temperature in the 90's and heat index over 100.
“Fairways & Greens” to you for tomorrow - stay cool and drink like a fish (water of course!)
We were at the par three when Nicklaus, Player and Watson played together - I got some great shots of legends of the game.
One world. One planet. One future.

The ship is listing precariously toward port
( Isaac’s bar side), so I’m heading to shore pronto. I won’t be submitting since it required a nudge from a kind Muggle. Even with that nudge In the right direction, it took me a long time to find what I know is the right answer. Tough one, from cackling Matt for sure.
Please take it easy on us next time, OK guys?

I was almost to shore and had the lifeguard come pull me in the rest of the way. Going to skip submitting as I wouldn't feel like a champion drinking from the mug this week. I don't think I'd have made the last step on my own.

Found something intriguing, however, it only seemed to work for (7/8)x100 = 87.5% of the answer. Then I found another piece, I think.
Could someone PM me and confirm or deny what I found?
