I actually have the "knowledge base" for this one, but still needed Google to confirm. Reach out for a nudge if you need one! Goodness knows I've asked for enough of them from this board...looking forward to an opportunity to be the nudge-r.

At sea currently and wondering if I need to be the film buff that I am to solve this, or if I'm just chasing rabbits

Safely ashore! Very cute meta -- glad to be relaxing on the beach and waiting for the cabana boy to bring me something fun and tropical to ward off the January blahs.

Just made it ashore. I don't see how anyone could figure this out without looking things up.

I gave in and looked things up. Once you know the mechanism, it isn't hard. Some film buffs may guess right away, but not me.

In other words, if we feel even a hint of cleverness when having solved them, the creators should experience a rush many times that!
Yes, 100 percent! As smug as we were for figuring it out (definitely a team effort), I hope Matt (or any puzzle constructor who provides us with said smugness) experiences it MANY times over! It blows my mind the way these creators come up with these metas.

Meg wrote: Thu Jan 14, 2021 4:34 pm Very nice!! I enjoyed that! In the sand with a margarita. The cabana boy says he'll come back when it warms up and Cruise Director Bob believes in him.
Is this like in Peter Pan? Close your eyes tight and say, "I do believe in cabana boys! I do! I do!"

The tenders bringing muggles to shore have been very busy with 86 on the shore and 5 hanging with Isaac.

I have been wondering if the people who got this easily have had children or grandchildren around to see animated movies
or
how many people like me have not seen an animated movie for 30 years and are clueless and having to slog their way through with extensive use of google.
I have no children, grandchildren, or interest in animated movies. In fact, I don't really keep up with or see a lot of movies in general, and I've never seen the answer. But I did know almost enough to get this and definitely enough to know what to google.

Bob, I don't have kids, never will, don't really ever see or spend time with children, and I got it right away. FWIW.

I think I'm on shore, I've submitted an answer, and I think it makes sense, but I'm not 100% sure today.

On shore. I think we won't break any records, but there should be a good crowd on the beach.

My kids are fairly grown now, but I still enjoy watching the occasional animated film. Took in Pixar’s latest offering, Soul, and loved it!! Having said that, only a minuscule amount of animated movie knowledge helped me to shore.
