"[Re]-Key Ingredients"

#1

Post by TMart »

Good morning, and welcome to Muggle Meta Monday! This week’s puzzle is called “[Re]-Key Ingredients”, and the meta answer is a six-letter food made from some key ingredients.

Please send answers/comments/complaints to me via PM. I will post some nudges on Wednesday, and the full solution next Sunday.

Al, Brian and Peter are setting the bar pretty high, with prizes, leaderboards, etc. While I’ll do my best to put up a leaderboard, the only prize you can hope for here is the personal satisfaction of having solved a meta (which is far more joy than any mug can bring!)

Thanks for playing, and for giving me a place to indulge one of my more acceptable obsessions. As Stephen King once said, there are men and women in padded rooms all over the world who are not so lucky!

Tom

Off the couch ... with hats off to Tom & Co. for sharing such well-crafted (and delightfully devious) puzzles. A gifted and generous crew, indeed.

Hi, I'm new here. I see a lot of people saying "Off the couch". Even after a quick google, not sure what is meant, unless it is just "I was sitting down to solve this. I completed the puzzle and meta so I got up, to do other things".
Is that it?

Welcome and congratulations.

The phrase Off the Couch has become the phrase solvers use to indicate they have solved the MMM puzzle.

It's like the phrase On Shore that solvers use to indicate they have solved the WSJ contest.

Huh --- between this and the last paragraph of TMart's "here's the puzzle" post, you've all helped me see things in a new way (and isn't that the point :) ) ----
I guess Woody Allen could never play along because maybe it means finally out of analysis!
(I'm still on the darned thing since I'm only just about to print.)
