"Popup Adds"

#1

Post by Al Sisti »

Good morning Muggles, and welcome to Muggle Meta Monday!

This week’s puzzle is called “Popup Adds,” probably around a Week 2.5 rating. Please PM me your solution by 4 PM on Sunday, and this week, I’m going to try to give at least one or two snapshots of a leaderboard during the week. Feel free to PM me for nudges, but try to stick with it for a couple days first. If nothing else, Nudge Wednesday occurs on… uh, Wednesday this week.

On Sunday, I will draw a name at random from the pool of solvers, and the winner will get his/her choice of a) a Utica Club keepsake, or b) an unsullied copy of one of the books in Peter Gordon’s “____ingly Hard Crosswords” series, autographed by Peter himself!

The answer to this meta is a fast food franchise. Good luck!

Well, if Cindy and Meg are stumped... okay, I guess Nudge Wednesday comes early this week. As the title suggests, sometimes what you're looking for isn't there yet.

Thanks for being so clear. Not enigmatic at all.

Feel free to PM me with your guess; I can move you forward if the mechanism is right or save you some time if it's not. There's no limit as to how many answers you may submit; a solve is a solve.

I’ve pmed my guess. I’m feeling pretty sure about it. About my 53rd tunnel today! What Al considered a nudge was of no help, but I appreciate the intention.
Confirmation. I am 🛋 !

Off the couch!

I’d tell you my way of getting there (not the usual), but I’m sure I’d be giving away too much.

Hi, I'm new here, could someone send me a nudge?

I haven't bothered to learn how to check PMs so your nudge will just be sitting in your Outbox for weeks anyway. *

The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Off the couch! Unconfirmed as yet, but confident. Like Chris, my route wasn't the usual one, but I'm not sure I would have gotten there another way :-)

Based on only the title and prompt, I feel like I know the answer. But I guess I really should solve it before submitting. In fact, I should try to find the meta and not just backsolve and force my answer to fit.
