"To Eat For Tea"

Post by DrTom »

Happy Monday Muggledom!

The privilege of providing the Monday META fell to me this week. I would be remiss if I didn't heartily thank Brian MacDonald for guiding me along the way. Without his help this definitely would not be here.

The title of the puzzle is “To Eat For Tea” and the Meta answer is a staple of Southern cooking.

Please PM me with comments, nudge requests or the answer of course. I’ll check in Wednesday evening to add a hint or two if needed, but I doubt this group will need them. I’d rate this as perhaps a 2, though I can tell you it was a 375 to construct. I will NEVER complain about any oddities in meta puzzles again (well until one makes me miss the answer that is! ;) )

I hope Y’all enjoy (see what I did there)!

DrTom,
I don’t think this puzzle is a 2. I’d say, since nobody's here saying they have the answer, we might could use a hint before Wednesday 🙂.

Agreed. And if Meg is stumped? I don't mind admitting that I am, too!

Not grammatically, but in southerner Jeff Foxworthy's lexicon, it done do. Also, I was playing off of your "might could."

I have it, I think-confirmed. Tom, you did a fantastic job on the clueing. As I mentioned to you, I usually view filling in the grid as an annoyance along the path to the meta. I really enjoyed filling in this grid—thank you! BTW, how many patients died while you were working on this?

Off the couch! Though it took a nudge. Thanks, Dr. Tom and Brian. A fun kickoff to my puzzling week.

I enjoyed the grid and cluing even more than the meta, which went quickly (though I cheated, in a way).

I just did the grid and really enjoyed it! No idea on the meta yet, but it's only Monday.

Nice grid and clues. More "spiritual" than usual, DrTom must be a Southern Baptist. Have an idea about the meta but nothing pushing me off the couch yet.
