Episode #269 Contest: "Opening Acts"

#1

Post by BarbaraK »

The puzzle is called "Opening Acts." The solution to the puzzle is a famous writer.

The crossword is at http://bit.ly/fmi269con

Submission instructions and the password are on the podcast.

I've split the banana. There's a close but doesn't quite fit answer this week, so if you can't quite see why the answer is who it is, you may have the wrong one.

Hope to see another muggle winner!

IMO there's only one answer that makes complete sense, but it might be slightly obscure for people who aren't married to my husband :-)

I have an answer, but not sure it's THE answer. I'll think on it for a while.

Edited to add: Glad I thought on it. Pretty sure I have the answer now. Much better.

Last week I didn’t discover anything. This week I have the answer and pretty sure it’s the intended one.

One of the nice things about Acrosslite is that you can email a puzzle as .puz or a pdf. So I emailed it to you.

BTW, does Brian C. have children? I'm guessing not because, when our boys were tiny, 17A was said multiple times daily. :)

I started listening a few episodes ago and Brian C. is always mentioning his son. Sounds like you are fast-forwarding to the password info

Muggles are on a two-contest winning streak. I just put my first entry in so let's see if we can keep the streak going...

And the Muggle streak continues. Congratulations, Peter! First time must be the charm.
