"Night Moves" – Aries Cryptic #27

#1

Post by ChrisKochmanski »

Andrew Ries's free variety cryptic, posted earlier this week, is a contest, with answers due next Sunday, June 28. Find it here: https://www.ariespuzzles.com/2020/06/ar ... moves.html

It's a fun puzzle, fairly challenging but do-able (depending on your experience with variety cryptics).

Thanks, Chris. Like you, I enjoy that extra level of challenge with a variety cryptic.

Great construction... when you think of all the things he had to do, it's pretty amazing.

Al, solving these are hard enough. Constructing? In another life! Even thoughts of that are best left to you guys.

I got confirmation from Andrew that I got the answer correct. I hope he does another variety cryptic soon!

I think I just solved this, and I am inordinately proud of myself. (Full disclosure, there are still two or three answers I didn't fill in, but I have enough to submit the answer, and my brain needs a rest.)

Solved this last night before bed. It was a good one! Up there with the HEX cryptics in WSJ.
