I've gathered that some here aren't all that wild about Richard E. Maltby, Jr.'s variety cryptics in Harper's (his clueing can indeed be ... interesting), but I'll guarantee you'll learn some new words with his latest.

I love Maltby's puzzles, so haven't gathered that from me!

As for "Shaky Ground" - done and dusted this afternoon.

Maltby's puzzles are the main reason I subscribe to Harper's. Shaky Ground was a lot of fun and I definitely learned some new words.
